I don't seem to be able to add any people to my family tree, if I click on the add family member button nothing happens, any suggestions

It is supposed to be a little pop up that you pick which type of family member to add.

What browser are you using? This sounds like a css/js issue. Can you try with other browser or with extensions/addons turned off on your browser.

Tried in Chrome, Chromium and Firefox, no popup happening so I'll just
make sure there's no addons stopping this

Tried in various browsers, even Edge in desperation, it's running on shared hosting so it may be an issue with the installer that's used. You're welcome to login and have a look if you want

I've carried out a complete install in a virtual machine following instructions and no popups when clicking on the add family member, the link above no longer works. Are there any other steps I need to do before this will work?

When you click the add buttom, it does an ajax call first, so that ajax call must be failing.

Can you look through your error logs to see what error it's giving.

This is from the logs, not sure why it says Invalid User ID

Well that does seem to be a problem, but that error is not from the family tree problem you are having.

That error is on the home screen. Looks like FCMS is having trouble finding the logged in user.

I'll try this out with another provider just in case it's an issue with
the way it installs on the current one before worrying too much

Sorted, you don't click on the add member, you click on the + button on
    your name.
